This is the image for the news article titled C-REF funds cubelets for Ryder makerspaceThanks to the Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation, the Ryder makerspace now has Cubelets, a type of robot introducing students to robotics, STEM and computational thinking.

Cubelets are robot blocks designed for students of all ages with an emphasis on screen-free exploration. Cubelets nurture students' imagination, creativity and inventive spirit and are "the building blocks of better thinkers," according to Modular Robotics.

Each Cubelet has a special function and belongs to one of three categories: SENSE Cubelets take in information from the robot’s environment. THINK Cubelets compute and change that information, and ACT Cubelets turn that information into physical action.

Connecting at least one SENSE, THINK, and ACT Cubelet creates a robot construction!

The Cubelet robots were funded by a generous grant from the Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation. The Ryder makerspace would like to thank CREF for their generosity!
