When the Cobleskill-Richmondville School District is forced to close schools, delay start times or dismiss students early due to inclement weather or other emergency conditions, that information will be reported in a variety of ways.
Closing school involves a lot of teamwork. Many people are consulted in the early morning before a final call is made.
NOTIFICATIONS FOR CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
The district will use the following methods to communicate closings and delays to parents, students, and community members:
- An alert will be posted on the district’s homepage.
- Families will receive a text and/or phone call through ParentSquare. You can download the free ParentSquare app for your mobile device. The ParentSquare app gives the district the ability to send push alerts, emails, text messages, and phone calls. All will be used to alert parents and students of closings or delays.
- A post will be made on our Official District Facebook page.
- Information will be posted by local television and radio stations, including Channel 6 (WRGB), Spectrum Local News, Channel 10 (WTEN), 99.5 The River, 107.7 WGNA and the Times Union website.
