Grants from the Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation (C-REF) provided students in Ms. Fregoe’s class Radez Elementary with new opportunities to learn and play during recess.
One grant provided funds to start a small garden, which the students watered, weeded and planted themselves. Another provided for some playground equipment -- footballs, jump ropes and more -- for students.
The grants are part of C-REF’s “Quality of Live/Student Choice Program,” which offered nearly $20,000 to fund projects whose ideas came from the students themselves. More information about the program can be found here: C-REF grants reflect student choice.
