On Saturday, December Ninth, Nola Bohringer and Ananda Wilding competed in the Schoharie County American Legion Oratorical Contest.
Both students were required to give an eight to ten-minute memorized speech on a citizen's responsibility toward the United States Constitution.
Nola, a freshman performed extremely well for someone who is fourteen years old. Her efforts earned her a third-place finish.
Ananda, a senior gave an impressive performance that won first place.
The win was bittersweet. Frank Masterson Jr., who introduced the competition to the county and worked tirelessly with our students for over a decade passed away recently.
We congratulate Nola and Ananda and offer our condolences to the Masterson family.
