Cobleskill-Richmondville CSD voters have approved the 2023-24 school budget by a margin of 477-145, according to unofficial results announced Tuesday, May 16.


Incumbents Susan Emerson Strasser, Steven Philbrick and Bruce Tryon were re-elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education and voters passed a proposition to establish a capital bus reserve fund for the acquisition of school vehicles.


Below is a summary of the results from the five ballot propositions:


School budget: More than 76.7% percent of residents voted in favor of the $45,352,710 budget. The budget raises the local tax levy by 1.91 percent, which falls within the New York State “tax cap” for C-RCS.


Board of Education: Three candidates ran for three available seats. The results were as follows: Emerson Strasser (534), Philbrick (498), and Tryon (502)


Capital Bus Reserve Fund: Voters approved the establishment of a capital reserve fund for the acquisition of school vehicles by a margin of 487-141.


Community Library Budget: The $321,000 budget passed.


Library Board: Julia Walter (5-year term), Virginia Downs (5-year term), Nathan Davis (3-year term), Fred Barnes (1-year term)
