Students at Ryder Elementary are learning about listening, sharing, teamwork and cooperation, with a little help from robots that were purchased through a generous C-REF grant.
The robot set, called Cubelets, come with sensor, action and battery cubes that click together using magnets. The robots can be built to perform different tasks, depending on how the cubes are put together.
Under the direction of art teacher Lori Masterson, students were able to have the robot perform different tasks, based on the combination of cubes.
“I asked them to experiment with different cubes to see if they could build different types of robots,” Mrs. Masterson explained. “They loved it!”
Below are some photos of students enjoying an introductory lesson with the robots.
