Hunter Rose is the son of Fonda-Fultonville's varsity football coach Jerry Rose. He was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a blood cancer, in May and since his diagnosis, he has experienced a remarkable amount of support from his own Fonda-Fultonville community, but the support doesn’t stop there.

At Friday night's home opener, C-R football players and cheerleaders wore orange and painted banners to show their support for Hunter and his battle.

After Friday night’s game, Coach Rose spoke to C-R players in the endzone and echoed a common theme C-R coaches had been sharing throughout the week at practice: "There are things in life that are greater than the sport of football and a game played on a Friday night and this is one of them - there is a 16-year-old kid fighting for his life."

C-R varsity football head coach Ed Hantho and Jerry Rose both attended FFCS and were teammates on the FFCS football team.

“I heard about the difficult path that Jerry and Heather were facing with Hunter last spring,” said Coach Hantho. “I also heard about all the support that the Fonda community was providing Hunter and I just wanted the Rose family to know that even people outside that area are pulling and praying for Hunter.”
