Five C-R Odyssey of the Mind teams competed at the New York State Finals tournament on April 15. Two of those teams placed in the top three for their problem and division, making them eligible to compete at the World Finals, held at Michigan State University May 24 to 27.
The Golding Middle School Problem 5 Division 2 team placed second and the C-R High School Problem 5 Division 3 team placed third, allowing both teams the opportunity to compete at World Finals!
Golding Middle School team members qualified to compete at World Finals include Avery Johnson, Elise McDonald, Mason Maki, Daniel Ruenes, Brooke Sill, Madeleine Wilding and Claire Brownell. The team is coached by Allison Atkins and Hallie McDonald.
C-R High School team members qualified to compete at World Finals include Brynn Crewell, Ronald Cook, Anthony Conover, Lucas Myers and Emily Warner. The team is coached by Jamie Crewell.
The Problem 3 Division 1 team coached by Dana Terefanko placed sixth, the Problem 1 Division 3 team coached by Vicky Kleinberger placed eighth, and the Problem 3 Division 3 team coached by Katrina Maki placed 11th.
