Congratulations to Nicholas Underwood and Alexa Walker who have been named Class of 2023 Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively.
Nicholas is the son of Toni and Warren Underwood of Cobleskill. Nicholas is the Valedictorian of the 2023 class. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America, serving as Historian then President. He participates with the varsity golf team.
He also participates in Environmental Science Club and Student Council, serving as vice president. Nicholas has served as a class officer and is president of the senior class. He is the recipient of the Capital District Leadership Award as well as the Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.
Nicholas is a C# Coding Instructor and Arduino (Micro Computer) Coding Instructor.
Nicholas plans to study finance in the fall at Cornell University’s Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.
Alexa is the daughter of Teri and Brad Walker of Howes Cave. Alexa is the Salutatorian of the 2023 class. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Select Choir.
She participated in the Addams Family musical and received the Student of the Marking Period award. She also received the Juror’s choice in the Fulton Montgomery Community College Art Show. Alexa also received recognition for Innovation and Creativity from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
In addition to her academics, Alexa volunteers her time at the animal shelter and enjoys helping take care of animals.
Alexa plans on a career in animation and will study digital and studio art in the fall at SUNY Oneonta.
