Radez gives back: Brrr Baskets

Radez Elementary is known as "The Little School with a Big Heart," and for good reason. Each year, Radez students and staff host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser in an effort to give back to the Richmondville community.
This year, students chose to give back by spreading some Valentine's Day cheer. More than 30 Richmondville residents received "Brrrr Baskets," hand delivered to them on Feb. 12 by Radez staff members. Radez staff worked together to create the list of recipients by suggesting community members who were in need of cheering up.
Radez students spent time during recess putting together the baskets, which included a variety of treats and gifts, including blankets, fuzzy socks, chocolates, tea, soup, hand warmers, hand written Valentine's from Radez students and more.
The recipients were incredibly moved by the thoughtful gesture and many let Radez staff know how loved and appreciated the unexpected gift made them feel, even bringing some recipients to tears!
Planning is already underway for the 2024 Radez Community Dinner, set for Thursday, March 21 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Radez Elementary.
