From Feb. 27 to March 24, Ryder students and their families participated in the Pick a Reading Partner Program. Students were tasked with reading with a partner for at least 20 minutes each day. By the end of the month, Ryder students spent 1,412 hours reading with a partner!

To celebrate PARP, and all of the reading they did, Ryder students enjoyed a day full of special activities on March 31, thanks to a generous grant from CREST.

All Ryder students had the opportunity to participate in guided drawing, a dance party in the gym and reading buddies, during which students from C-RHS and Golding Middle School visited Ryder to read stories with the younger students.

In addition, pre-K and kindergarten students spent time reading with therapy dogs Sophie and Wiley, first grade students met Munchkin the therapy pony from SUNY Cobleskill, and second grade students met rehabilitated wildlife, including owls, hawks and a porcupine during a presentation by the Wildlife Alive program.

Thank you CREST for your generosity and support that made this special day possible!
