The Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation (C-REF) has
been awarded a $750 grant from the Stewart’s Shops Matching Funds Program.
Half of the $750 was donated by customers, many of whom live
in the C-R school district. The Cobleskill-Richmondville Education Foundation
will use the $750 and match those funds with another $750 for a joint project.
C-REF will purchase “Keepsake” T-shirts for fifth-grade
students moving up from Radez Elementary school to Golding Middle School and
for our eighth-grade students moving up from Golding Middle School to C-R High
School. Each shirt will contain a pawprint with the names of all of the class members
and a grade-specific motto.
This project is in appreciation of the hard work that each
student has put into his or her education during this unprecedented school year.
As the fifth- and eighth-grade students enter a new phase of their education in
a new place, we want to let the students know that we value their hard work.
The C-REF Board of Trustees wants to extend a heartfelt
thank you to The Stewart’s Shops Matching Funds Program for aiding and
partnering in this endeavor. Stewarts has collected and matched donations in
their shops from “Thanksgiving to Christmas since 1986.” Thank you to all in
our communities who have donated to the Stewart’s Holiday Match Program.
