On Jan. 17, our Bulldog wrestlers competed in the Division 2, Section 2 Dual Meet at Johnstown High School. The team defeated Fonda-Fultonville/Johnstown and in the finals defeated Hudson Falls with a score of 43-27 to be named sectional champions and move on to the state dual meet championships.

At the Bison Tournament in North Colonie, C-R placed seventh out of 29 schools after 14 hours of wrestling and junior Kyber Henry achieved his 100th career victory.

Senior night on Jan. 25 celebrated lone senior Jaci VanWormer. During the win over Tamarac, freshman Ashten Haley also achieved his 100th varsity victory!

Jaci VanWormer headed to Onondaga Community College on Friday, Jan. 26 to represent C-R at the NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational.

At the NYSPHSAA Wrestling Dual Meet Championships on Jan. 27, also at Onondaga Community College, C-R took down Island Trees Union Free School District 39-30. A pin by Collin Yorke helped seal the victory over Island Trees. A loss to the defending champions, Tioga Central School District, left C-R with a 1-1 record on the day.

Great work and congratulations Bulldog wrestlers!
