This is the image for the news article titled Why C-R Special Education: Troy BielertTroy Bielert wasn't exactly sure what he wanted to do with this career. The idea of being a college professor had crossed his mind, primarily because both of his parents had been professors, however a program at Windham Mountain called the Adaptive Sports Foundation led him to a fulfilling career as a high school special education teacher.

After completing a degree in cultural anthropology and working on research in South Africa, Troy found himself unsure of what was next. While working at the Adaptive Sports Foundation, a few of Troy's co-workers, who were special education teachers, mentioned special education may be something for him to consider.

Since then, Troy has completed a master's degree in special education and has worked at C-R in the special education department for the last eight years. During that time, he has worked as a self-contained classroom and consultant teacher, but more importantly, he has connected with so many students through his teaching, guitar lessons and as a soccer coach.
